As expected, to know it we must arrive; and for this, we must know where it is. This lagoon is located outside the town of Tulum, 12 kilometers towards Felipe Carrillo Puerto and right in the middle of the jungle.

 

How to get to the Kaan Luum Lagoon

How to get to the Kaan Luum Lagoon is not complicated at all, because the road is quite easy to travel.

If you travel by private car from Tulum it will take you 20 minutes and you must take Highway 307 towards Felipe Carrillo Puerto; After 12 kilometers you will find a wooden sign that will tell you to leave the main route. Once you take that access, in a few minutes you will run into the lagoon.
If you travel from Cancun by private car, it will take you just over 2 hours to travel to Highway 307.
If you go from Playa del Carmen, the route will not take you more than 1 hour, and as in the previous cases, you must travel through Highway 307.

How to get to Kaan Luum Lagoon in Tulum

If you travel by taxi, the cost can be around 250 MXN for a 4-person car from Tulum.
Another quite viable option is to travel by public transport, which you must take on Avenida Tulum. The buses are identified with a sign that says “Carrillo Puerto”, the cost of the ticket is 50 MXN; once they leave you at the stop, you will have to walk about 500 meters until you reach the lagoon.

To get there by public transport from Playa del Carmen you must take the bus from Calle 2 Norte with Avenida 20, a few meters from Fifth Avenue. The bus is identified with a sign that says “Carrillo Puente” the cost of the ticket is 100 MXN. To return, just go back to the road and wait for a bus to pass in the direction of the city.

Access to the Kaan Luum Lagoon

The cost of access to the Kaan Luum Lagoon for adults and children is 100 MXN, this is a base price for the whole week. If you want to enter with a drone to record an aerial shot, the cost could be about 300 MXN.

Pets are prohibited from entering the lagoon, you cannot enter with alcoholic beverages, and smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas.
