Xel-Há Park is a natural water park in the Riviera Maya near Tulum, built around an inlet where freshwater meets the Caribbean. A visit is a day of snorkeling, river floating and outdoor activities, with time to eat and relax in between.
Updated October 13, 2026.

A water-focused day in the Riviera Maya
Xel-Há is a different outing from an archaeological site, a guided cave tour or a single boat snorkeling trip. The inlet is the focus, but there is also river floating, jungle paths and areas for nature lovers. Couples may alternate water time with a slow meal; families do better choosing a few priorities, agreeing on a regrouping spot and planning around less-confident swimmers.
Main activities and attractions
- Inlet snorkeling: explore the natural inlet and its marine life; sightings are never guaranteed.
- River floating: a route you can snorkel or float on an inner tube.
- Scenic Lighthouse: a 40-meter viewing platform with a waterslide descent.
- Adventure and quieter spaces: rope games and water activities, plus jungle walking, rest areas and children’s facilities.
Allow time to change, collect equipment, move between areas and rest, rather than measuring the day by how many activities you finish.
Admission types and food inclusions
| Ticket | Published inclusions |
|---|---|
| Xel-Há All-Inclusive | Restaurant access, domestic open bar, snorkeling equipment, life jackets, inner tubes, lockers and a towel |
| Xel-Há Light | Unlimited soft drinks and access to most activities; not the same food-and-beverage package |
| Total / Afternoon | Separate products with their own inclusions; Afternoon has a later entry time |
Optional activities and photographs may cost extra. If you have dietary needs, ask what can be provided rather than assuming the buffet covers them.
What to prepare
Bring comfortable clothes, a swimsuit, a change of clothes, a hat and sunglasses, and pack so wet items stay separate. The All-Inclusive page asks for a physical valid passport, not a digital copy, and the park specifies permitted sunscreen ingredients. Admission does not mean every water attraction suits every visitor, so describe any accessibility needs in advance.
Getting there
Xel-Há is on Federal Highway 307 between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, a longer drive from Cancún than from Tulum. Use the park entrance, not just Tulum, as your destination. Transport is included only if you add it to your purchase. Allow a margin for traffic, and avoid squeezing a second major excursion into the same day.
Arriving at Cancún Airport? Book a private ride straight to your hotel and skip the airport taxi lines.
Before you book
Ticket prices, inclusions and the operating calendar change. Check the date, admission type, transport, total price and cancellation conditions with Xel-Há before paying.
