Choosing your ScubaTony experience

Guided trips for certified divers, introductory scuba for first-timers, courses and private charters are separate bookings. A friend’s certification does not make a certified-diver trip suitable for everyone in your group. Send the team your certification, logged experience and last dive date, and ask what they recommend for your current abilities. For several days of diving, ask about multi-trip packages but leave some flexibility.

Small boats and reef selection

With six passengers per boat, it is easy to talk to the crew about your preferences, but spaces are limited, so book your group together. You can request a reef and say what you want from the day (relaxed diving, particular scenery, photo time, a gentle return to diving), though a request is not a confirmed itinerary. Visibility, conditions and wildlife vary.

Equipment, inclusions and the complete quote

The two-tank trip includes tanks, weights, guide service, marine park fees, taxes and refreshments. Rental equipment is extra, so send your sizes and say what you are bringing to get a full total. For a course, check learning materials, schedule, certification fees and preparation, and avoid booking other timed excursions around an assumed finish time.

Returning divers

If you have not dived recently, ask about ScubaTony’s returning-diver requirements before booking a regular trip, and complete the operator’s screening honestly. The instructor or guide decides on participation.

Getting there

ScubaTony works through online reservations rather than a walk-in shop, and sends meeting instructions after booking. If you stay on Cozumel, ask whether dock pickup is available from your hotel. Mainland visitors arrange their own ferry from Playa del Carmen and taxi, and must stay on Cozumel the night before to join the morning departure. For the crossing, see Ultramar Ferry.

Arriving at Cancún Airport? Book a private ride straight to your hotel and skip the airport taxi lines.
