Planning a destination wedding from abroad

Couples planning remotely need a local partner who can turn ideas into practical decisions. Grupo Chick describes support through venue selection, site inspections, menu tastings, vendor scheduling and local logistics. It helps to know which agreements are signed with Grupo Chick and which go directly to venues or suppliers, and who holds each deposit.

Planning and administration

The planning service covers the structure of the event, while the administration component focuses on budgets, schedules and synchronization among vendors. Because “full planning” can mean different things, a detailed proposal should separate planning fees from third-party costs and show whether guest responses, room blocks, transport, payments or paperwork are tracked, how often meetings happen and who the main contact is in the final weeks.

Design and guest experience

Grupo Chick presents design as a cohesive visual identity, with elements such as a custom logo, digital RSVP materials and personalized guest pages, floral concepts, furniture and reception layouts. A good design plan still has to fit the venue’s rules, weather exposure, guest count, power and setup windows, so mood boards, floor plans and rental lists are useful before production.

Execution on the wedding day

The official description says the team manages property handover, vendor load-in, final walkthroughs and logistical supervision. For outdoor events, a written rain, wind and heat plan is important, and couples benefit from naming one trusted representative who can make decisions when they are unavailable.

Elopements and smaller celebrations

The company has a dedicated elopement offering. Comprehensive planning is most useful for couples coordinating many guests, several vendors or a venue far from home; smaller celebrations may need a more limited service. Listing which decisions to keep and which tasks to delegate makes it easier to compare a proposal with real needs and avoid paying for services a hotel or venue already provides.

Getting there

Grupo Chick works across Cancún and the Riviera Maya, where venue distances can be substantial. Guest transportation, vendor access, setup traffic, hotel zones and airport timing should be planned together, including late-night transport after the reception.

Before you book

Planning fees, vendor prices and promotions change. Before signing, get a contract listing the date, locations, guest count, exact services, staffing, payment schedule, taxes, and cancellation and postponement terms, and confirm which vendor costs are estimates and which are fixed.
