your birth certificates to the Secretary of State and enclose a letter
stating that you are getting married in Mexico and that you need an
Apostil. They will then return you the documents.

contact the Legalization Department of Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

- Tourist Cards - which every foreigner
obtains on the flight down to Mexico (please keep in a safe place)

- The wedding couple and their witnesses must be in Mexico for at least
4 business days (Monday - Friday) before the wedding, not counting the
arrival or the wedding day, to meet with the wedding coordinator and to
submit all documents.

(no exceptions).
- Marriage License Apostil (for USA and British Citizens) - After the
wedding you will receive your Marriage License and an original copy.
In order to make this valid in your country, we as well need to get the
apostil for the Marriage License. We take care of this procedure for
a $50 USD charge, payable in cash before the wedding day. The
procedure takes 1-3 months, and as soon as we have it back, you will
receive it by courier.
- Marriage License Original Copies. Every extra copy is $10 USD
payable in cash before the wedding day. This procedure takes about
one month and as soon as we have it back, you will receive it by courier.
Booking your wedding:
Due to the high amount of weddings that we have, we kindly ask you to
request the wedding date as soon as possible. We have a policy of
having one wedding per day as we believe it should be your special day.
If you would like to reserve the date, we require a written confirmation at
least 6 weeks prior to arrival, always depending on date availability.
We just need an email or fax with the names of the bride and groom, your
arrival date, the requested wedding date and time and approximate number of
guests; please enclose a copy of your credit card and ID (both sides) as a
guarantee for us to save the date. We do not require a deposit and we
do not make any charges prior to the wedding day. All wedding charges
will do onto the room account which you can settle during your stay.
The hotel accepts credit cards (MasterCard, Visa and American Express only),
travelers checks and cash.
Here at the Hotel Iberostar Paraiso Lindo & Maya, we understand that all
couples have their own ideas of how they want their special day to be, we
try to be as flexible as possible. Between now and when you walk down
the aisle, you will have lots of questions, please do not hesitate to
contact our wedding coordinator (Ana Ruth Cueto) by
email, fax or telephone so that we can answer any individual questions.
No question is too big or too small. Please let us help you as much as
possible. We are here to take the stress out of planning a wedding in
a different country.
