Frequently Asked
Questions
Can we have our blood test taken before we arrive to
Mexico?
The majority of our guests do their blood
tests here in México. That’s the more convenient way for you to get the
medical papers, because you won't need any translation and neither Apostille
or certification. The option that we have to do the blood tests here in
México is at the hotel in our medical center, with our doctors, you have to
go to Hacienda Doña Isabel that is the first yellow building at the entrance
of the Resort there is our medical center, so you have to be there before
12:00 pm and the results will be ready the next day the cost is 70 USD per
person.
In case you will decide to have it done in your country don’t forget that
they will have to be dated not prior to the fifteen days counting backwards
to your wedding date. So you have to have the blood tests and medical
certificate translated into Spanish and Apostille them at the Mexican
Consulate or Embassy at your country or certified them in a Notary

days before the ceremony. If you require a Blessing instead of the Legal

a weekend.
Some of our guests will be staying in Cancun, but we would like them to join
our celebrations. Is this possible?
They can purchase our wedding day pass, which
enables them to come into the hotel between 8 a.m. till 11:00 pm., They will
then be able to use all of our all-inclusive facilities including the
wedding dinner. Please ask them to bring a photo ID with them. The cost of
the day pass is 50 USD per person

etc.?
When you arrive to the hotel, we will have a

What time of the day will our wedding be?
We normally have our ceremonies at 3:00, 4:00
or 5:00 p.m. We have found this to be the best time, as the heat of the day
has gone, yet we still have enough light to take all your beautiful wedding
photographs. If you prefer a different time, please let us know in advance,
so that we can inform the Judge or the Minister and confirm his
availability.
Can we rent tuxedos when we get to Mexico?
There is a place in Cancun that rents
tuxedos, but we highly recommend you to bring your own outfits. This saves
you any unnecessary stress, as you know that your outfits fit well because
you have tried them on before you come here.

We have a Spa located within our hotel. They
have excellent hairstylists, and a selection of photos that you can look

choose between few options that we have (classical, romantic, Latin,
Mexican… etc.) If you want to have live music you will have to pay an extra
charge, a very popular option with previous couples is the Mariachis. This
is a group of 5 guys dressed in traditional Mexican outfits, playing a
mixture of music with guitars, a violin and a trumpet. ¡¡¡Viva Mexico!!!

guests rooms after arrival, we can assist you with that. Please write down
the name and the arrival date on the bag or the envelope. We can only send
the gifts to the rooms after the guests checked in, to avoid confusion in
case the guests change rooms upon arrival, and the cost is 2.50 USD per

The dinner following the wedding at one of the a la carte restaurants, does
this include all the group? Is it somewhat private? Additional costs?
There will not be an additional cost for the
wedding dinner, which will be organized for the entire party. We will
reserve one of the specialty restaurant with a la carte service or serve a
set menu if there are 17 persons or more, the client can choose the set menu
from any of the restaurants (the same entrée, soup, main course and dessert
for all the group). Our clients have 3 dinners a la carte per 1 week staying
at the hotel, so the bride and the groom will going to have the 3 dinners a
la carte in our specialty restaurants and an extra one for their wedding
reception dinner, the rest of the guests will have to use 1 of their 3
dinners a la carte to the wedding reception dinner, so they will have 2
dinners a la carte in ours specialty restaurants and 1 for the wedding
reception dinner. You will have 1 hour and a half or 2 hours (depending of
the persons of the group) for your dinner and it will be with the other
clients from the resort, but we will reserved an area for you and your
guests.
Is there a choice of locations for the wedding?
Yes, we will show the clients upon arrival
the different wedding locations. We have beach and garden locations
I am wondering about the birth certificate that is required to get married
in Mexico, the normal birth certificate in Canada do not show parents´
names, is there any problem with that?
No, the birth certificate that you have with
out your parent’s names will work.
Can the rooms be located somewhat near each other?
We always request to receive the rooming list
latest 1 month prior to the arrival of the clients to be able to forward it
to the Front Desk Manager requesting the rooms to be assigned in the same
area of the hotel.
What you can
tell me about the resort's wedding photographer? Does he/she do both black
and white and color pictures?
When you arrive we show you his work and you
will also be able to speak with him before you decide. And yes he do both
pictures. Check out his website:
www.conradophotographer.com
Which ID’s does the government accept?
For the Government of Quintana Roo, the only
ID which is accepted for bride, groom, and the four witnesses is a passport.
The divers license is not accepted al a legal identification for the
marriage papers.
Does we are
required to have our birth certificates, including parents’ names,
translated into Spanish? Is also necessary to have it notarized or approver
by the Mexican Consulate?
If you bring your passports with you, and
your birth certificates and passports have the same names on it, you do not
have to worry about this part. With the small birth certificate and its
translation into Spanish it will be ok.
Our marriage
will be legal in Canada after having been performed in Mexico or if we will
have to have it legalized once we return to Canada?
Please ask to the Mexican Consulate in your
country for the details of the validity of the wedding certificate you’ll
receive here, as it depends a lot on the state of Canada where they live.
We are hoping
that 50 of our family members and friends with be joining us and staying at
the resort. My fiancé and I are looking to have a wedding on the beach with
a private reception to follow in an outdoor patio or beachfront location. I
have some questions below...
The wedding at the beach is ok, about a
private wedding reception, the one that is included at the package is at one
of our specialty restaurants and its not private, we are going to close one
section of the restaurant for you but the rest is going to be open for the
other guests of the hotel. In case you want a Private wedding reception at a
room or at the beach it will have an extra cost.
What
differences there are between the Bahia Prince Akumal and the Tulum?
The difference between the Tulum side and the
Akumal side is that the Tulum side is bigger than the Akumal, the Akumal
side has more junior suites but the Tulum has more ocean views. The Akumal
pools are like rivers and the Tulum side like lakes. Those are the main
differences
